This is an insightful article. I too faced multiple adversaries at one time in my younger days. The most being five but I was too busy fighting to be concerned about fear. As my skill and knowledge has increased so has the necessity to be cognizant that moving away from violence takes more strength. However, when the necessity arises for physical confrontation to do it in an efficient and violent manner.
